On July 24, 2024, Charles County Government purchased the old Sears building, located at the St. Charles Towne Center, for $7.5 million.  To support the construction of the building to turn it into a sports and wellness facility, the project will be funded from a combination of general obligation bonds, fund balance and state funds.  Tune in to hear more about how this project came to be, and how it is being paid for.  And, to learn even more about the project, visit
