Mental Health: Coping Strategies and Resources

Charles County Government

Join Chief of Media Services, Jennifer Harris as she talks with Ambassador and Trainer from the National Alliance on Mental Health, Monique Owens, about coping strategies  during the COVID-19 pandemic and where to find resources if you find yourself or a loved one needing assistance.

Coping Strategies:

  • Limit your time with the news and social media
  • Educate yourself on preventive measure from reliable sources
  • Stay connect to family and friends
  • Take care of yourself, your own health; exercise
  • Learn a new skill, hobby, do things you may have been "putting off"; distract yourself
  • Strong feelings will fade
  • Concern is normal, don't let fear drive anxiety to unhealthy levels
  • Journal
  • Laugh
